Wally Evans
President and Publisher

Wally Evans founded Cahaba Media Group in 2002 after serving for several years as a Vice President and General Manager of global publishing and manufacturing conglomerate EBSCO Industries. Over more than two decades as a business manager, he has managed companies that range from entrepreneurial start-ups to a $40 million dollar operating division of a large corporation, and has served on the boards of several privately held companies and non-profit organizations. He has a degree in Economics from The University of the South and an MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

George Lake
VP of Sales

A veteran of the Marine Corps and a graduate of the University of Alabama, George spent several years as a banker before joining Randall Publishing as an advertising sales representative in May of 2000. He helped found Cahaba Media Group and has been with the company since its inception in 2002. He has led the sales organization of the company since that time.

Michelle Segrest

Michelle is a graduate of Auburn University with degrees in Journalism and Speech Communications. Her 22-year publishing career includes work as an award-winning sports reporter for three Alabama daily newspapers, managing editor of a nonfiction book publisher, specialty publications coordinator for a global media company and publishing manager for a global consulting firm. Her byline has appeared in several regional and national publications.

Jeana Durst

For more than six years, Jeana Durst has written and edited for newspapers and magazines, including a national women’s health and fitness magazine. Her experience includes editing a local shelter publication where she worked closely with residential construction business owners. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Samford University and completed her master’s degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Dave Parks
Editor, Homecare

Dave Parks has more than 25 years of experience as a journalist, with much of that time spent as an editor and health reporter. He has served as an editorial consultant for medical providers and written extensively about health policy. As a reporter, he has produced notable stories about disease and disability, aging, veterans' health care and public health. His work has been cited by diverse government organizations, including the U.S. Congress, the White House and U.S. military. He has worked for CNN.com as a health editor and the Birmingham News in Alabama as the senior health reporter. Most recently, he authored a book, Health Care Reform Simplified, published by Apress, that guides patients and businesses through the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010. Parks has earned numerous journalism awards, and has served as a panelist and speaker at national conferences sponsored by Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) and Computer Assisted Reporting (CAR). He is a member of the Association of Health Care Journalists and the American Medical Writers Association.
